「Ever-Present Material」（遍在する素材）は、人類が最初に刻んだ痕跡と、現代のオブジェクトを一本の途切れない線で結び直す試みである。本作の根幹にあるのは今回の展示のために作られた造語、「アルカヘスト（Arcahest）」という概念。それは創造し、遊び、労働し、最適化し、彷徨い、生き、死ぬことを人に促す、原初的かつ現在進行形の命令であり、文明以前から存在しながら、今なお人間の行動や物質文化を形づくっている。
洞窟壁画や初期のピクトグラムは、言語や実用性に先立つ衝動の証拠として立ち現れる。それらは必然から生まれた、「伝えること」と「作ること」を兼ねた行為だった。こうした初源的な痕跡を、経験や信念、生存の知を凝縮した思考のための実用的テクノロジーとして捉えている。
作品を支えるのは、永続し共有される素材が存在するというコンセプト。すべての物は同じ有限の元素から成り、すべてのイメージは過去の記録を継承している。ひとつひとつの痕跡は断ち切れない連続体の一部として存在し、更新され続ける。その意味において、素材とは物理的なものにとどまらず、歴史的・認知的なものでもある。普遍的で、共有された素材だ。
本展のコレクションで中心的な役割を担うのが、シアノタイプ（青写真）です。鉄塩・光・水という単純な化学反応に依拠するこの技法が生み出す、鮮烈な青は事実そのものだ。あの色は化学と太陽光から生まれ、必然的に、繰り返し現れる
作品は主にランプという機能的な形態をとる。芸術は家具として扱われ、日常の使用と近接を通じて思考を肯定する存在となる。機能性は妥協ではなく増幅装置だ。光がイメージを透過することで、知や伝達、連続性という比喩が文字通り可視化され、同時に生活空間で実用に供される。

Ever-Present Material explores the unbroken connection between the first human mark and the contemporary object. One of the main themes of the exhibition is the concept of the Archahest: a primordial, ongoing command to create, play, labor, optimize, wander, live, and die. Older than civilization, this force continues to shape human behavior and material culture.
Cave drawings and early pictographs appear here as evidence of an instinct that precedes language and utility. They are acts of communication and acts of making at once, driven by necessity. Those early marks are functional technologies of thought: compressions of experience, belief, and survival into durable form.
All objects are built from the same finite elements, and all images inherit what came before them. Each mark exists as part of a continuous record that extends from the past. In this sense, the material is not just physical but historical and cognitive. An eternal, shared material.
The cyanotype is a central material to the collection. It relies on a simple reaction between iron salts, light, and water. Its vibrant blue is factual, the color emerges from chemistry and sunlight, inevitable and repeatable.
The works take the form of functional objects. As lamps, the pieces literalize illumination. Light passes through image, reinforcing the metaphor of knowledge, transmission, and continuity while remaining useful within a domestic space.
